Error from server (NotFound): deployments.apps "x" not found
The named object doesn’t exist in the namespace/cluster kubectl is pointing at.
Seen on:
Kubernetes
Meaning
Typically the wrong namespace, a typo, or the object was deleted/renamed (Helm adds release prefixes). For NotFound on a resource type — the server doesn’t have a resource type — see that error instead.
Common causes
- Wrong namespace or context
- Name typo or Helm-generated prefix
- Object deleted or not yet created
⚡ Quick fix
- List names: kubectl get deploy -A | grep part-of-name
- Use the right -n namespace
- Check context
Detailed fix by platform
Kubernetes
kubectl get deploy -A | grep web
How to diagnose
- Namespace — Where does it live?
- Name — Exact name with prefix
