No job functions found 🔷 Azure

Azure Functions: No job functions found. Try making your job classes and methods public / Error indexing method

The Functions host started but couldn’t discover or index any functions — wrong project structure, extension/binding problems or a missing worker runtime.

Seen on: Azure

Meaning

Typical causes: FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME not set or mismatched (dotnet vs dotnet-isolated), deploying the wrong folder (no function.json / host.json at the root), Python v2 model without the right setting, or a binding extension missing.

Common causes

  • FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME mismatch (dotnet vs dotnet-isolated, node, python)
  • Deployed package missing host.json/compiled output
  • Binding extension not installed
  • Indexing error from a bad attribute/connection setting

⚡ Quick fix

  1. Check FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME and runtime version
  2. Deploy the build output folder that contains host.json
  3. Read “Error indexing method” details for the binding at fault

Detailed fix by platform

Azure CLI

  1. `az functionapp config appsettings list -g rg -n func-app --query "[?name=='FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME'
  2. name=='FUNCTIONS_EXTENSION_VERSION']" func azure functionapp publish func-app`

How to diagnose

  1. Runtime — Worker runtime setting
  2. Package — host.json at root?
  3. Logs — "Error indexing method" message
