no matching manifest for linux/arm64/v8 in the manifest list entries
The image has no build for your CPU architecture — typically pulling an amd64-only image on an Apple Silicon Mac or ARM server.

Docker
Meaning
Multi-platform images contain a manifest list with one entry per OS/architecture. If yours isn’t there, Docker refuses to pull. MySQL 5.7 and many older or niche images are amd64-only.
Common causes
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or ARM server pulling an amd64-only image
- Image published for linux only, pulled on Windows containers
- Custom image built on one architecture only
⚡ Quick fix
- Pull the amd64 build with emulation: --platform linux/amd64
- Use an image/version that ships arm64 (e.g. mysql:8, mariadb)
- Build multi-arch images with docker buildx
Detailed fix by platform
Docker
- bash
docker pull --platform linux/amd64 mysql:5.7 docker buildx build --platform linux/amd64,linux/arm64 -t myorg/app:1.0 --push .
Docker Compose
- bash
services: db: image: mysql:5.7 platform: linux/amd64
How to diagnose
- Host — uname -m / docker info | grep Architecture
- Image — docker manifest inspect image:tag | grep architecture
