Windows Error 0x80070002: The system cannot find the file specified
A file or registry entry Windows expected is missing — common in Windows Update, backups and app installs.

Meaning
0x80070002 wraps Win32 error 2, ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. In Windows Update it often means downloaded update files are incomplete or the update database is out of sync.
Common causes
- Incomplete or corrupted update downloads
- Wrong path in a shortcut, script or scheduled task
- Files removed by cleanup tools or antivirus
- Date/time out of sync during updates
- Uninstalled dependency still referenced
