The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found
The uploaded zip doesn’t contain a plugin main file with a plugin header at the expected level — often a zip of zips, a theme, or a source download.

Meaning
Marketplaces often ship a “full package” zip containing documentation and the actual plugin zip inside. GitHub source zips may nest the plugin in another folder or lack built files.
Common causes
- Uploading the full download package instead of the inner plugin zip
- Uploading a theme as a plugin (or vice versa)
- Zip with an extra nested folder
- Missing plugin header comment
⚡ Quick fix
- Unzip the package and upload the inner plugin zip
- Use Appearance → Themes → Add New for themes
- Ensure the main PHP file has the Plugin Name header
Detailed fix by platform
Shell
unzip -l downloaded-package.zip | head
