Chrome
Meaning
Browsers don’t cache POST responses. Developers fix it with the Post/Redirect/Get pattern: after handling a POST, redirect (303) to a normal GET page.
Common causes
- Refreshing or going back to a page produced by a POST form
- Site doesn’t redirect after processing forms
- Cache-Control: no-store on the page
⚡ Quick fix
- Visitors: navigate to the page again instead of refreshing
- Developers: redirect after successful POST (303 See Other)
- Avoid no-store on pages users navigate back to
Detailed fix by platform
PHP
- php
if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] === 'POST') { save($_POST); header('Location: /thank-you', true, 303); exit; }
How to diagnose
- Flow — Was the page a POST result?
- Server — Redirects after POST?
