ITMS-90725: SDK version issue — This app was built with the iOS 17.x SDK. All iOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 18 SDK or later
App Store Connect requires uploads to be built with a recent Xcode/iOS SDK (raised every spring).
Seen on:
iOS
Meaning
Apple enforces minimum Xcode/SDK versions for submissions. CI images with older Xcode, or local machines not updated, produce builds that get this warning/rejection.
Common causes
- Building with an old Xcode version
- CI runner pinned to old Xcode
- macOS too old to run the required Xcode
⚡ Quick fix
- Update Xcode (and macOS if needed)
- Select the newer Xcode on CI (xcode-select / setup-xcode)
- Rebuild and re-upload
Detailed fix by platform
Shell
- swift
xcodebuild -version sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode_16.app
How to diagnose
- Xcode — Version used to archive
- CI — Image Xcode version
