ITMS-90206: Invalid Bundle. The bundle at 'App.appex' contains disallowed file 'Frameworks'
An app extension (or framework) embeds its own Frameworks folder; only the main app may embed frameworks.
Seen on:
iOS
Meaning
Extensions and frameworks must link but not embed shared frameworks; the app embeds them once. Often caused by “Embed & Sign” on the extension target or ALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIES=YES on extensions.
Common causes
- Framework set to Embed in an extension target
- ALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIES enabled for extensions/frameworks
- Copy Files phase into the extension’s Frameworks
⚡ Quick fix
- Set frameworks to “Do Not Embed” in extensions
- Set ALWAYS_EMBED_SWIFT_STANDARD_LIBRARIES = NO for non-app targets
- Remove extra Copy Files phases
Detailed fix by platform
Shell
find MyApp.xcarchive -path '*appex/Frameworks*' -maxdepth 6
How to diagnose
- Bundle — Which .appex/.framework has Frameworks/?
- Settings — Embed and Swift stdlib settings
