Cloudflare Error 1016: Origin DNS error
Cloudflare can’t resolve the origin hostname your DNS record points to (usually a CNAME target).

Meaning
A CNAME pointing at a hostname that no longer exists (deleted Heroku/Render/Azure app, typo, expired provider record) or an origin hostname that only resolves internally.
Common causes
- CNAME target deleted or misspelled
- Origin provider changed its hostname
- Target resolves only on a private network
- Load balancer pool origin with bad hostname

- Check the CNAME target resolves publicly
- Update the record to the provider’s current hostname or an IP
- Fix Load Balancer origin addresses
