Meaning

Usually caused by a specific update failing (look up its code), low disk space, corrupted component store, or a driver/security tool interfering.

⚡ Quick fix

  1. Check Settings → Windows Update → Update history for the error code
  2. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter, DISM and SFC
  3. Free space and retry; pause updates if it loops
