The Firebase Auth SDK couldn’t reach Google’s servers — offline, blocked by an extension/firewall, or (on Android emulators) missing Play Services/network.

Meaning
Ad blockers and privacy extensions block identitytoolkit.googleapis.com, corporate networks block Google APIs, emulators without internet, and CSP rules that don’t allow the endpoints cause this.
Common causes
- Device/emulator offline
- Ad blocker/privacy extension blocking Google endpoints
- CSP connect-src missing Google domains
- Auth emulator configured but not running

- Test in an incognito window without extensions
- Allow https://identitytoolkit.googleapis.com and https://securetoken.googleapis.com in CSP
- Start the emulator or remove connectAuthEmulator
